Healthy breasts are an essential part of every woman’s health.

In today’s post, I’d like to look at how we can keep our breasts healthy through daily practices.

Let’s examine seven proven tips to keep your breasts healthy.

Tips for Healthy Breasts

Tip #1. Invest in a Healthy Diet

We talk about it repeatedly, but the foundation of good breast health starts with a healthy diet. Foods rich in antioxidants are critical to the long-term health of your breasts. Antioxidants are known to fight off free radical cells, which lead to cancerous tumors.

Some foods that are rich in antioxidants include:

  • Dark Chocolate
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Red Grapes
  • Broccoli
  • Curcumin
  • Black Pepper
  • Green Tea

Tip #2. Get Enough Sleep

Research has revealed there is a connection between sleep duration and breast health. Interestingly, once participants slept 6-7 hours a night, their risk of breast cancer increased with each additional hour.

Getting enough sleep is equally important. Insomnia is horrible for our bodies and minds, so it is essential to get sufficient rest each night, preferably between 6-and 8 hours.

Creating a relaxing space in your bedroom, leaving work in another room of the house, and any other devices is an essential piece of the excellent sleep puzzle.

Tip #3. Stay Active

Physical activity helps our bodies regulate hormones. Like insulin and estrogen, hormones are linked to breast cancer, but you can keep them balanced with regular exercise.

Another advantage of regular exercise is that it helps you maintain a healthy weight.

Obesity increases the risk of certain cancers, including breast cancer, so it is crucial to stay at a healthy weight for your height and age range.

Tip #4. Reduce Your Alcohol Intake

Speaking of hormones, alcohol also throws our hormones out of whack. Too much alcohol increases estrogen levels, and science has shown additional hormones connected to the hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.

If you want to keep healthy breasts, reduce your intake of alcohol. Research shows that just three drinks per week can lead to a 15% increased risk of breast cancer compared to women who don’t drink.

Tip #5. Reduce Your Stress

Stress is rarely a good thing. That’s why it’s so important to reduce your stress levels. One way you can do this is through meditation and even yoga.

Yoga relaxes the mind while helping the body detox from stress hormones. If you practice daily, you will notice marked differences in how you feel within a few weeks, if even for 5 minutes. This process helps us center our minds. This process helps us center our minds by sitting still in a world that demands us to be constantly on the move.

Tip #6. Invest in Proper Fitting Bras

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 4 out of 5 women wear the wrong bra size. If you’re worried you’re wearing the wrong sized bra, you could be reducing your breast health. While it isn’t necessarily linked to breast cancer, it can cause discomfort that leads to more severe issues.

You can see their bra fit guide to learn more about your bra size and how to ensure what you’re wearing fits you.

Tip #7. Take Supplements for Healthy Breasts

Want healthier breasts? Then it’s time to consider breast-friendly supplements. Some of my favorite breast health vitamins and minerals include:

  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Folic Acid

Taken daily, these supplements can ensure that you can enjoy healthy breasts.
