Spring is just around the corner which means more time in the sun, more sunblock slathered on our skin, and tons of delicious foods headed down into our digestive system.

But that could set you up for some serious troubles during the fun and warmer months of spring and summer.

So before the leaves start growing and the sun starts shining again, get your lymph system into shape with a lymph cleanse.

Here’s what you need to know about your lymph system and how to detox your lymphatic system to set yourself up for a great summer.

Symptoms of a Clogged Lymph System

Our lymph system is an important part of our immune system. It is responsible for transporting fluids, fats and also removing toxins from our tissues. And it does so many other amazing things for our bodies when it is working properly. But when it’s not working properly we can suffer from:

  • Frequent headaches
  • Weight gain
  • Sinus infections
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Skin conditions

The good news is, you can reverse these issues with a good healthy lymphatic cleanse. Here’s how…

Do Targeted Exercises

Our bodies are built to move and interact with our environment. Unfortunately, modern lifestyles don’t allow much opportunity for adults to explore and move throughout the day. So, what can you do?

As part of your lymph cleanse, I highly recommend engaging in some sort of exercise. The lymph system responds well to exercises that get your body moving in different ways. So, while lifting weights is great for your muscles, it isn’t the best exercise if you want to increase lymphatic drainage.

But a few great exercises you should do include:

-Jumping on a trampoline

-Yoga

-Jogging

These are versions of rebounding exercises. Rebounding, such as jumping up and down on trampolines, can increase the drainage of toxins within your organs and muscles. It is also incredibly fun and safe. Kick start your lymph cleanse with a one a rebounding exercise of some sort.

Stay Hydrated & Change Your Diet

If you follow natural medicine or alternative medicines, then you might be familiar with how certain herbs react within the body.

The ones I highly recommend for your lymph cleanse include goldenseal, pokeroot, echinacea, wild indigo root, cilantro, and parsley.

You’ll also want to switch up your diet with healthier foods that support this process.

Some of the best for your lymph cleanse include garlic, chia seeds, almonds, cherries, flaxseed, Brazil nuts, avocados, and all leafy greens.

These foods help nourish your body as you experience a lymphatic drainage throughout your body.

Of course, since you’re going through a cleanse, one of the most important things you can do is drink more water. Your body will lose precious water as you go through the cleanse, so increase your daily intake with pure water to avoid dehydration.

Deep Breathing

The way that we breathe in daily life is far from sufficient. Most of us take shallow breaths that only sustain our bodies, not nourish them.

If you want to learn how to detox your lymphatic system, I highly recommend researching deep breathing exercises. There are multiple types of breathing exercises you can do including Deep Abdominal Breathing, Progressive Relaxation, and 4-7-8 Breath.

Try them out to see which one works best for you. I found that as I started doing these exercises I began breathing differently in my day-to-day life as well, further keeping my lymph system healthy.

Avoid Tight Clothing

Just like improper breathing, tight clothing restricts your body’s ability to function at its peak condition.

Ditch the skinny jeans for more comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. That could be anything from linen or cotton pants to high-quality dresses that allow you to breathe and move as freely as possible.

Ladies, it is also a good idea to avoid tight-fitting bras if you can during your lymph cleanse.

Get a Massage!
