Our body’s main filter is the liver. Our liver is also the doorway to our emotions, particularly for unexpressed or unprocessed anger and frustration. In fact, the liver is greatly affected by negative feelings. Over time, this can create serious problems for the liver.

That’s why it is a great idea to detox your liver. If you’re going to invest your time into detoxing your liver, you undoubtedly want to choose the best liver cleanse. Well, I want to help you out. Here is my suggestion for how to detox your liver to strengthen it.

How to Get Started with the Best Liver Cleanse for Your Body

Like I mentioned before, your liver is greatly affected by emotions which means during your liver cleanse you need to be aware of negative feelings. Your emotions will be particularly intense. It is a great time to meditate and to relax. For tips on how to do that, check out my post How to Fully Relax.

Once you’ve taken some time to relax, the next step is to invest in a change of diet. There are some specific liver friendly foods that you should add focus on. These include beets, garlic cruciferous vegetables, milk thistle, and carrots. Virtually any bitter tasting herbs and vegetables are good for the liver.

And here’s a recipe to get you off the ground with my recommendation for the best liver cleanse…

Recipe for 7-Day Kick Start Liver Cleanse

Credit for the following recipe goes to Cherie Calbom, M.D., The Juice Lady.

1 cup raw beets, finely grated or chopped

2 tablespoons extra virgin cold pressed olive oil

½ of organic lemon juiced

Whisk the olive oil and lemon juice together and mix with the grated beets. Eat 1 or 2 teaspoons of this salad every two hours during an eight-hour period for seven days.

Why it works: because these vegetables, fruits, and herbs have potent ingredients that are critical to the health of the liver. By consuming this food, we help our body process the toxins that might be sitting in our liver. Pair this recipe with fresh, filtered water for a total liver cleanse that works.

Benefits of the Best Liver Cleanse

One thing to keep in mind during your liver cleanse is that you will likely spend all more time on the toilet purging what was in your liver. This could lead you to feel a bit weak, however, the pay off will be worth it.

Some of the benefits of a liver cleanse:

  • Removes built-up fats in the liver
  • Aids in regenerating destroyed and damaged cells in the liver
  • Improves your digestion

Our bodies are capable of handling a lot of toxins, but it is our conscious job to cleanse it every so often. If you invest in high-quality foods and filtered water, your body, particularly your liver, will thank you.
