You’ve heard of the gallbladder, but do you know what it does, where it is located, and why you need it?

In this post, I’ll give you a few tips for how to cleanse your gallbladder naturally, explain briefly what the gallbladder is and why you need it.

What is The Gallbladder?

The primary function of the gallbladder is to store bile from the body. Our bile is responsible for digesting fats and other difficult to process foods.

An important distinction, the gallbladder does not make bile, but it does store it. Your bile comes from your liver. It keeps bile in between meals until it’s needed by the small intestine to process food.

Located directly below the liver in the upper right section of your abdomen. An unhealthy gallbladder can lead to gallstones or other pain and discomfort.

That’s why gently cleansing your gallbladder is such a good idea. Ready to start your gallbladder cleanse? Then consider my top natural cleanse tips.

Tip #1. Add Apples to Your Diet

Tart, Granny Smith apples are the best type of apple to add to your diet if you want to cleanse your gallbladder. Also, Apple Cider Vinegar, unfiltered, is ideal for your liver and for gently cleansing your gallbladder. You can easily add ACV to your salads or as a dressing for something else.

For two days, between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM, drink only Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water to absorb it into your gallbladder.

Tip #2. Drink Herbal Tips

Herbal teas are another important component of a healthy gallbladder. Some of my favorites are red clover and milk thistle. Both of which are great for digestion. Drink a cup of one each day during your cleanse.

Tip #3. Do Gallbladder-Friendly Exercises

Certain exercises penetrate and support the gallbladder during your quick gallbladder flush. Some of the best moves come from Yoga and Pilates.

Waist rolls and poses like bridge pose help the body cleanse your liver and gallbladder. Movement is more important for our liver and gallbladder. As a lymphatic massage therapist, I am intimately familiar with how movement and touch affect systems in our bodies.

Tip #4. Avoid These Foods

There are specific foods that contribute to problems with your gallbladder. These include nuts, meat, dairy, and seeds. Alcohol and sugars too can prevent your gallbladder from processing bile and toxins.

If you’re trying to do a gentle gallbladder cleanse, infuse your diet with healthy greens, plenty of fresh pure water, olive oil, flaxseed oil and more.

Tip #5. Go To Bed Early

Get some rest by heading to bed by 10 PM and sleep on your right side. Add a warm bottle of water to your abdomen to help process and move things along. You will likely have to get up during the night to relieve yourself as a result of the gently cleansing process you’ve implemented.
